CUPA Programs

The purpose of the Unified Program is to consolidate, coordinate and make consistent the administrative requirements, permitting, inspection activities, enforcement activities, and fees for the six environmental regulatory programs in each jurisdiction. The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) was approved by the State as the Unified Program Agency (UPA) for San Joaquin County in January 1997. The EHD administers the Hazardous Material Business Plan, California Accidental Release Prevention (Cal-ARP), Aboveground Petroleum Storage Act, Hazardous Waste Generator, Hazardous Waste Onsite Treatment (Tiered Permitting), and Underground Storage Tank programs.

San Joaquin County EHD offers free classes presented by NES Inc. that are available to all San Joaquin County Hazardous Waste, Hazardous Material, Underground Storage Tank, and Aboveground Petroleum Storage facility business owners and operators. If you are interested in attending these free classes, please visit San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD) Archives - NES (nesglobal.net) to sign up; spaces are limited to five (5) attendees per business per class.
