What We Do

The mission of the San Joaquin County Department of Public Works (Public Works) is to construct and maintain infrastructure that serves the interests of our residents. Projects in the County may be required to construct public and private infrastructure, prepare maps, dedicate property, pay fees, enter into agreements, acquire will-serve letters, request road closures, modify waterways, levee and channel encroachments, and obtain building permit releases, which are processed by Public Works. The Accela permitting software allows customers to apply for permits and agreements, submit improvement plans and maps, pay fees, and request inspections online. Please select the link to the Public Services or Water Resources divisions to learn more about the services available in Accela.
