Operators who rent to transients must submit a Transient Occupancy Tax Registration Application to the TTC within 30 days after commencing business. Upon registration, TTC will issue to the operator a “Transient Occupancy Registration Certificate”.

Step 1.Initial Consultation

Applicants are encouraged to consult with the Treasurer–Tax Collector’s Office (TTC) before applying to ensure that a certificate is needed.

Step 2.Application Submittal

If a certificate is needed, using the “Apply Online” option above, fill out and submit the certificate application form.

Step 3.Application Processing

Applications will be reviewed by staff, and additional information or documents may be requested.

Step 4.Official Certificate

Once approved, TTC will print and mail the official certificate.

Step 5.Quarterly Tax Returns

Once the certificate is active, you must submit a quarterly tax return and payment for the collected TOT. We will send notices to contacts on file ahead of the due dates.
